The Lusty Incubus

The incubi are fallen angels by lust, becoming demons and trying to enjoy the women when they are dreaming or drowsy. The opposite of incubation (incubus) is the Succubus (Succubus), female demon that strives by all means to remove the semen of men. The succubus who acquired the seed does not hesitate to turn into a bear incubated for women and, thus, bring forth some monster from hell.

The Nightmare (1781) after Henry Fuseli
Derived from the Hebrew mythology, the incubus, according to Genesis (VI, 1-4) is indeed capable of generating strong. The passage in question says that the angels cursed "saw the daughters of men were fair and they took them wives of all which they liked." St Augustine (City of God, XV, 23) because of the incubated an article of faith, referring to the opinion of many: "The facts of demons incubi or succubi are so numerous they can not be deny without impudence: the authority of so many serious characters, the stories of indisputable facts, as among civilized peoples than among the barbarians, the confessions finally thousands of people must be taken into consideration. " The Summa and De Trinitate of St. Thomas Aquinas, who follow suit, assert the existence of incubi, as all theologians and demonologists.

The incubator is capable of assuming the most varied forms to achieve its ends. Madeleine Cross, the abbess of Cordoba, was incubated for a faun lover goat-footed, others were owned by carnally handsome young men, little gnomes familiar corpses temporarily animated by the Devil or vapors condensed air.
The stories of incubi are endless, especially since they preferred to attack the nuns and married women who, as everyone knows, are unable to keep a secret. The audacity of these demons knew no bounds: they disguised themselves as confessors and frequently slipped between the sheets until the marriage bed.
There was, wrote the monk Ernauld in the country of Nantes an unfortunate woman tormented by a demon."This being lascivious in her lit the fire of passion, lay down on her and treated her as a wife after spending one of his hands under his body and the other under his head.Adultery invisible, he came at night, while the woman was lying near her husband, who knew nothing, and he was engaged on her to lust. For six years, this disease remained hidden and only discovered the unfortunate shame to anyone. Yet the seventh year, the spectacle of his crimes piled up and thought of God's judgments frightened him.
She went to the priests and confessed his shame. Then she made pilgrimages and implorales saints. But confessions, pilgrimages, prayers only obtained no result. The demon came back every day and was more libertine. The crime came to be known and the husband was furious ... "

St Bernard, passing through the city, gave to the unfortunate pilgrim's staff, which took away the gift of the incubus. "When Sunday came, the Holy ascended the pulpit and preach before he ordered all present to hold in their hands lighted candles. Then he brought the packages unheard of Devil he flung anathema to the spirit which had engaged in lascivious hideous dirt contrary to nature; any assistance adhered to this anathema, he finally ordered by the authority of Christ or of approaching this woman or any other. As soon as the sacramental candles were extinguished, the power of the devil was completely destroyed. The woman confessed and received Communion, the enemy never returned, but it went away forever. "(S. Bernardi Vila, Il, 34).
This is how the Middle Ages, the incubate were treated, that is to say, psycho-pathological states due to the absence of rules, menopause or genital excitement. It is obvious that in many cases, the adulterous births were put on the account of incubi. The nickname of Sinistrari Ameno and St Andrew relate many tales scabrous showing that, in the convents, the god Pan often reigned supreme.
Was discussed for a long time whether incubi could actually generate. It was said that the Huns, as Plato, Merlin the Magician , the Antichrist andMelusine were born of their union with the death. We finally admitted, with Luther and Bodin, the resulting offspring could hardly endure. He came out of this copula cum daemon, children agitated by the spirit of evil, greedy, cruel, dying young "even though they eat like four and are able to dry up to six nannies ... "When we admit the existence and power of demons, Bizouard said, there is nothing absurd. See succubus for other information.
